EcoGopher is an ongoing project, developed for the purpose of facilitating access to environmental information. By providing both a central location for organizations to store data to be distributed, and providing a simple-to-use interface for the casual user, EcoGopher makes it easier for organizations to get their messages out to a huge audience quickly and easily. For example, this gopher has menu items for over 30 different environmental groups including local University of Virginia clubs, Charlotte organizations and international activist groups. In addition, this site archives the messages from another 30 environmentally related listservs, and contains dozens of other environmental gophers and telnet sites.
